SAINT JOHN’S UNIVERSITY
Fellowship in Prayer gave a Sacred Journey grant in 2025 to Saint John’s University supporting a pilot initiative to connect student groups and other parts of the campus with the university’s Benedictine monastic community. Intended outcomes are to learn and practice the liturgy of the hours, cultivate stillness, interior silence, a sense of communal prayer, contemplative awareness of God, other, and self, as well as a generative connection between prayer and action in the world.
ABOUT SAINT JOHN’S UNIVERSITY
Saint John’s University is passionate about building a strong sense of community, fostering an awareness of our place in the larger world, and practicing a just and sustainable use of resources. Respect for each individual is at the core of all we do. Living in community teaches us to embrace difference and support one another. Shaped by our Benedictine values, our schools set their sights on the transformation of the mind and heart, encouraging everyone to feel a deep sense of belonging, both on campus and in the global community.
